Throwing caution to the wind

Okay, here is the non-update with the home study. Our Iowa letter was supposed to be ready Monday. I called today. Now it will be prepared and sent today. I will scan and email the Iowa letter and send it to our home study worker immediately. As of 10:30 am, it was received and sent to our home study worker. Then when I return home tonight, I will send our final documents (pay stubs, car insurance verification). Hopefully, we will not have to do another home visit. We were informed that the 2nd home visit would occur if we surpass the 6 month mark. We are just barely under the 6 month mark and I hope that we can avoid having to do another home visit, which would cause further delay.

The authentication stuff is in process and we're working on our other documents, which have to be authenticated in Oklahoma. Its a process. It requires patience. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but I refuse to accept defeat. This will work out for us.
On a optimistic note, we have purchased our first baby item. We had hesitated buying anything baby related because... as you can tell, we haven't had the best of luck. We didn't want to jinx anything or purchase items, only to discover that things didn't work out. (Leaving us with a crib and a painful reminder of our baby failure). But I have thrown caution to the wind and bought something to decorate the baby's room. Craig has an odd fascination with squirrels. Odd, but cute fascination. So, we've decided that the baby's room will have a squirrel/woodland creature motif. So, here is our first official baby item:
