2. Her infectious laugh (sometimes we get stuck in a loop. She laughs at something and then I laugh because I love her laugh and then she laughs because I'm laughing)
3. How smart she is (Our doctor said we can expect her to label 1-2 body parts at this time. She can label 15)
4. How helpful she is (she hands me plates and silverware when I unload the dishwasher. (Don't worry. I get the pointy things first.) She has dragged (and tried to lift) the full laundry basket from the laundry room into the living room. She likes to carry things for me at the store when my hands are full and then hands them nicely to the cashier. When I change my shoes for a walk, she picks up my walking shoes and sets them next to the bed. At day care, she always has to help the teacher with clean up and carrying the empty spray bottles to the kitchen area.)
5. Her tight hugs, squeezing just right around the neck and shoulders. Sometimes, I get a little pat on the back from her.
6. How she says "mama" with an emphasis on the first syllable
7. How she now says "Boop" and points to her stomach when she poops. I have considered starting potty training after the holidays.
8. Her odd fascination with her belly button
9. Her need to say "hi" to everyone. I am not exaggerating. At the grocery store, I feel like I'm pushing a beauty queen in a parade float.
10. She seems to prefer books over toys. She loves it when we read to her, but I've caught her taking books off our shelf, bringing them close to her face, and then "play reading" by babbling to herself
12. Her secure attachment to Mr. Bojangles (the pacifier I've mentioned before). She has a special Mr. Bojangles giggle. When she wakes in the morning or after a nap, she goes to the drawer where he is stored and voluntarily places him inside. When its time for bed or a nap, she happily runs to the drawer, opens it, and starts to giggle.
13. How we hold hands and "row" back and forth when we sing "Row row row your boat"
14. Her quiet calm with Craig. If Craig sits on the recliner with her in the morning, she cozies up to him and quietly sips milk. When I sit in the same recliner with her, she treats me like a jungle gym.
15. How she oddly looks like my mom when she is sleeping
16. Her preference for Bubble Guppies over Dora the Explorer. We tried Dora. She had no interest. Honestly, I couldn't stand it. The whole "Swiper! No Swiping!" thing seemed really unrealistic to me. "Oh, I wanted this, but now I'm not going to take it because you chanted at me." By the way, this scene in Modern Family caused the biggest laugh I've heard from Craig at this show.
17. All of her animal sounds. Her lion and tiger "Rawr" are my favorites. Her snake "ssss..." (complete with finger snake strike) and her rooster "Caaaa..." with her head thrown back are close seconds.
18. How you can seemingly distract her from anything by singing "If you're happy and you know it" because she compulsively claps her hands. She can NOT clap.
19. The noise she makes when she runs (the sound of her feet on the floor and the verbal sound)
20. How she emits a high pitch squeal and runs to me when I pick her up at day care.
Addendums (12/19/13)
21. How she must close every drawer and door that is left even slightly ajar
22.When she hugs me, she now takes a section of my hair in the back and rubs it back and forth between her fingers (I used to do the same with my mom's nightgowns when I was little)
23. How she grips tighter around my shoulders and neck if I try to put her down (this can be frustrating at times- like if I need to take something out of the oven- but it also makes me feel very loved)
24. How she touches the back of my head and pushes my face towards Craig so she can "force" me to kiss him on the cheek
25. Her "silly face" (this is what she does when you say, "Make a silly face.")
